I thought I had this thread posted here. Not sure where this build is going.Frirst thought was doing the KONG wrecker,or a plow truck.I,m thinking now to do an old school dump truck or heavy haul. Here are some pics of the build. http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture525.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture489.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture497.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture500.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture508.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture528.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture547.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/Picture954.jpg I have it on a 6X6 chassis for mock up.

I need some input on this build.Heavy hauler or Dump truck?????? Took the cab of my other project to get an idea of what way to go.It only made it worse.Lets hear some feedback. http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/002-1.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/004.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/005.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/snowplowjockey/paystar/006.jpg The heavy haul would have 2 winches, aluminum headache rack, aluminum fenders, beacon and work lights.

i like the dump route but mainly cause i want one lol. I like the way it looks there with the dump body but i personally would make it a tandom instead of a tri. just my .02.. Either way it'll look great!!

Great job on the cab and dumpbox. It should not be a problem to make it both a dump truck and heavy hauler, just make sure the box is easy to remove.

I like the dump as well, but not happy with the box I built after seeing some of the other hand built ones.So I might go heavy haul.

Thanks.I wish it was that easy.

Nope.Waiting on parts and working on my other projects.Never enough time or money.

Do a green frame with red and white wheels red center and white rim ring that combo looks great on this old truckThanks. The multi colored rims would nail it for sure.I ordered a set of 6 spoke daytons From Steve, just waiting. Those daytons would give it the right old school look needed.I would like to find some one who could build me a more realistic dump bed.I dont like the stamped metal ones from garden trucking,so I'm at a stand still on this build.

in my opinion that truck is tough no matter what and havent seen any others. i also think dump or concrete mixer cause i drove a paystar concrete truck for cemstone here in st. paul and if you missed a gear it hurt your hand!

Thanks Keith. Years ago I built a paystar glider for Martin ent. It was a tri axle, ill see if i can find some pics. They run these trailers, heavy haul and demolition. So I thought it would be the right truck for the trailer. Thanks for letting it go.

This is pretty much what I was going to say. Another option would be making the dump body self contained so to speak and easily removable. Then make a low profile bed with fenders, fifth wheel, winch and headache rack or what ever that you drop on the frame for the heavy hauler. The bed on the truck in my avitar mounts with six screws, every thing comes off to the bare rails including fifth wheel and its servo and linkage. Just a thought, the dump does look good!

Might have to make another cab for the heavy haul, might have to be a twin steer this time.Making the dumpbed removable wouldnt be an option.

It happens a lot on this forum. You see someone's truck and think that's perfect! Then plan B looks just as good!
I'd say the pay star looks right at home as a tough dump truck.
Great work as always Fred.
