It's been a good while since I started a thread, so be kind:)

I put ???????? since it seems that everybody has a name for their ride, but as of right now I got nothin.....so ?????? it is.

Many have seen it's current look - I had it at Indy, but the CAB was a last minute donor from Fhhhhstix - he was kind enough to see to it that my ride would make it to Indy.

This truck started as a swap for parts - Stylins fenders. From there I ordered up a King Hauler - no brainer right. So I started with the fender mods. Learned about having to "forward the axel" and rounded up some other parts form other swap purchases and so it started taking shape.

So here are some pics from earlier this year - yep it's been a long build - got thte fenders this past March and been working on it on and off since May.

fender after cleaning up the rough parts - pretty minor clean up. But I like things as symetrical as I can stand to get it....

some other donor parts .... RICS tanks...... some swapped rims and some SS fronts, I was thinking of a working day cab. I'm not one for show trucks so I thought the black rims added a nice work truck look. With the spoked fronts as a "Working Mans gift to himself" look

I love that you are hacking up that King Hauler body and putting the right fenders on it! Since those goodies became available, I have been wanting to build a Tamiya again. John's fenders and Brian's grille really make a huge difference. I'm sure this will be a great build. Take your time and get it right. It's worth it.

Looks good so far!!Im sure it will be a great build. If it goin to be a working truck you sure got a lot of different wiring to be ablr to pull all the trailers you have,Dump, live bottom, detach, etc:D

Don't worry Izzy, with tires and rims like those, there is no possibility of this becoming a show truck. :D As for names, I thought up a few suggestions:
"Workhorse"
"Midnight Oil"
"On the Job"
"Long Hours"
"Hardly Working"
and here's a good one...

"Bizzy Izzy"! :D

Loving the build so far, keep it up! :)

Thought I would post a little today.....

So I had this truck at Indy this year - with a loner cab from Fhhstix (thanks a bunch!) but after the truck pulling event I found that it had a bit of funny luck running about. Well I found that it had stripped the teath off the gears in the Tamiya Trans. SO soon after Indy I went online and ordered a new set of gear.....what ya think?

So what bl motor & reduction is that? And you're using it with an Integy 2.8 reduction?

What gear(s) did you strip specifically?

Izzy

Joe good eye.
AXI brushless at 1130 / V
Direct 4:1
Integy as 2.8:1
Brass helical gear set

Running 10C 3s lipo 11.1 volt

:). No need for an MFU - she already sounds like a turbo....

Got a link to the motor - gearhead combo?

No, I was wondering what gear did you destroy in the stock transmission?

That's a killer motor combo! I've been looking at those metal gears for awhile how solid are they?

Very nice - they have press fit internals so the hex to spline fittings are not reused. The bearings tap in nicely. And with the helical cut there is little noise and the gear mesh I thought was spot on. I will definetly by again when the truck demands it.
