at the local flea market today and found this guy.

its not nearly 1:14 scale. more of 1:18 I'm thinking. the big teal dump body is plastic (looks formed like lego does their bricks) and the rest is all stamped steel. there is NO marking or stamps or made in blah on this truck at all! The dump works like nylint trucks but the lifting part is spring loaded. the dump body, lifting arm, latching arm are all riveted through the plastic body.
Anyhow, anyone know what it is? google has failed me...

yeah im at a loss on google. the wheels are rubber but only semi soft, almost looks like something from the video game Fallout or from the old tv show THUNDERBIRDS lol.

after searching high and low on the truck i found a barely visible "Made in Japan" stamped into the bottom. Still google is being a tough cookie and refuses to be kind to me...

My suggestion would have been that its an overseas old school toy..dont think those pieces of paper relate to the truck though
Would be a one of a kind project if you would decide to convert into an rc

i think the papers just kinda date how old this truck is. think the battery is Motor King brand and i cant even find that on google!
I did take the cab off to look at the momentum motor thing. it has so many miles on this truck that the shafts for the axles are about half burnt through! guessing thats why one wheel is missing!

if my memory serves me well these are from the late 60s early 70s japanese versions of the american tonka truck and japanese make of truck combined.i remember seeing a friction truck like that 20+ years ago at a flea mkt i can't remember.they were supposedly trying to compete with the tonka construction trucks

I agree. Might be worth more to restore rather than convert to RC ?

the key is how do i find a whole front axle and friction box.
I think this will look good as a static next to my unit crane. it still dumps by itself!
