Lou, that looks really nice! The fenders and grille sure give the old King Hauler a brand new look, and I like it. The grab handles on the hood are an awesome detail touch. Did you make those yourself? I could use a few of those myself, for a project. Keep it going. Looking forward to the finish!

Lou, you must have worked an all nighter, to get that far. Now remember don't get too many projects going at once or you'll end up like me, nothing done. A real nice start on a great truck. It will look real mean, pulling that trammel.

Thank you all very much for your comments everyone and thanks for looking
My body work could still use a bit of practice and this time of year it difficult to get a good paint job done unless you a have good work shop..that I dont have yet ..The rattle cans can be pretty picky but i did ok ..A aluminum base coat and electric blue top coat

Thanks Paul ,Steve,Arron ,Rob ,Jason, and Reg...Hope I didnt forget anyone..Anyway been hard at er and cant stop now ..I tried my hand at bending the 1/4 K&S tubing ..my bender works ok ..I first tried the stainless tube the tamiya has on the stacks but ended up just buckling..so the heaver walled k&S was my solution ..I did take my dremmel and a small stone and thinned out the tips ..maybe some black paint will give it the used look as welll ..Fabbed up some tanks as well ..slightly polished but still a used look as well..
Thanks for lookin

Lou, outstanding work! You have giving me insaration for my next build, I have a tri-axle chassis waiting for cab and drive train. I think I may go with a Pacific as well, I got into looking them up and they are some workhorse looking rigs! I Love it! I was going to go with a lat 40's early 50's KW, But I think a Pacific will look better pulling my B-Train Log Bunks I got from RoadRanger. Keep up the good work, Your a true craftsmen!

Fabulous craftsmanship and detail. Great job Lou! A true working beauty. Many of the trucks that are on here don't often get dirty, this is a true down and dirty beauty.

I saw and liked your truck on build of the month but never got around to reading your build thread till now and I must say Lou, I'm a big fan of details and craftsmanship and this truck has it big time! Great work, can't wait to see what's next:cool:

What a difference from first pictures. From a stock vehicle now a realy prptp looking truck model. Do like the spoke wheels a lot, a real workhorse should have those! And also those steps on fuel tanks.
Congrates to a really nice model, guess it will be better with more details like the airtanks.
Dan
really beautiful truck you have there. Those lights in the mirrors are a super addition to a nicely detailed work horse!

Perfect details, Lou! That cab guard is awesome! The mirrors that Tamiya (and Wedico for that matter) use are just flat out ugly. I really like the small improvements you made to yours. It's defintely miles ahead of the stock pieces. Thanks for sharing the trick for fitting the bulbs inside the mirrors. Great thinking on using the metal frame of the mirror to complete the circuit. I might have to borrow that idea.

Thanks Izzy ..Very flattered ..Coming from a master builder as yourself.I kindof wish I had torn the whole thing appart and did a frame up instead of a makeover ..Im impressed with your workhorse as well

Thanks Nathan they are far from perfect but I glad you agree they look better. If you got even more creative im sure you could even hide the other wire in some small tubing instead of wire framing ..that was my initial plan..BTW the bulbs are grain of wheat i picked up at the LHS ..I did try them out on a receiver battery and they looked ok ..Thats what this forum is all about ..Sharing ideas , Making new friends , Helping others

I have always wanted to put a loose spring on my static models with a good weighted antenna and a heavy top so they would sway all over the place :D
Btw I love this build and would love to put it on my roads.

Thanks Nate They are more or less static and JB welded in place..i just slipped some short lengths of BIC lighter springs over the the Ant ..great idea though ...may do some mods in the future .I was thinking of stopping at the music store and checking out the guitar strings..Im at that point where im adding some of the small details ..still rear mud guards to do as well

Jim
That truck is modeled after a Pacific P16. It is an off highway size truck and has an offset cab hence the air cleaners and exhaust on the passenger side.
I was just ribbing Lou a little about the P510 being a shelf queen. I have seen it loaded with logs but only when parked. The last couple of shows we were at I believe it was having some radio issues and that's why it didn't get used.
No shows that we know of on the mainland. The next one we will attend will likely be in July at the Forest Discovery Center in Duncan BC.
