I would vote for making a replica. What I have learned, copy of a real one always looks good! And you will make a matching trailer to?

I say do the updated version. My reason behind that is we all know how Scott Pruitts truck looked in the stock 1970's form. Does anyone know what it would look like if he had it today with the current largecar truck trend in full swing? I'm a big fan of updating and going with amodernized version of a classic icon.

Not Sure Nick, have you ever been to Oklahoma and got yourself in trouble? The attorney general in Oklahoma is named Scott Pruitt....lol
Hey, Dwayne. I would lean towards an updated modern version. At least then you can let your imagination help you build what YOU want and let the Pruitt truck be the inspiration for it.
That's the problem with trying to duplicate a 1:1 exactly. It's like being told you have to " stay within the lines"..... Well, sometimes, I don't want to stay within the lines!:D:). Lol
I'm sure it will turn out great no matter which direction you choose.

JOURNEY,
I am building two replica tractors now and what I learned is that make sure you have a lot of pictures of the real thing otherwise you screw yourself. That god for me one of the tractors a good friend of mine owns and I have the ability to go see it anytime I want.
I love that truck if that was mine I would change it up a bit probably put the custom fenders on it, drop visor, SNP's pipes, texas square bumper, maybe even change the tanks and steps. Don't know your financial status but you could always order that stuff put it on for mock up and if you don't like it don't use it. Either way that is a beautiful truck good luck.

finally got some time to install the A-model KW steps i purchased from russ some time ago i used 1000 grit sandpaper to sand off the production lines and 1500 to smooth everything over so i could polish them to a mirror shine they look better than the tamiya plastic ones http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j436/1985kenworth/2014-02-08_11-05-43_919_zpsde5c1aed.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/1985kenworth/media/2014-02-08_11-05-43_919_zpsde5c1aed.jpg.html)

My kit is enroute. Awesome truck! I want to do a Movin On truck as well. What type and color paint did you use? Is the trim decals or paint? Where did you get? Any cab or hood mods? Thanks.
