Bad crash with Little Zeus today!!!!!!

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j436/1985kenworth/2013-05-11_18-09-10_761_zpsff930883.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/1985kenworth/media/2013-05-11_18-09-10_761_zpsff930883.jpg.html)i was out today and while my wife was shopping i decided to run my truck(i usually have one or 2 with me most times...play time is any time)anyway i was in full throttle when i decided to walk to a good place to sit down when i tripped on a rock and my thumb (i have throttle and steer on the same stick)from the jerk motion moved the stick to the left just as zeus in full throttle was close to a cement curb,and then POW!!! right into the curb left front corner head on .the damage is worse than it looks,i bent the frame in 3 places,the front left leaf spring/shackle assembly ,front crossmember/bumper mount is bent and shifted to the right.the front left headlight rock guard also(will have to make a new set).thankfully no damage to the body thanks to the bumper i got from russisloud took most of the hit and because its solid pushed and shifted everything back.let me tell you all this ,if a baseball scout would have been there and seen how far i threw that freakin rock..i would be a signing a contract to be a professional baseball player right now:mad:

Sorry to hear about the wreck Dwayne! That's the hardest part of this hobby... I'll take that parts chassis off your hands and ease your pain! :D You should be able to fix the damage, right?

Man that sucks... I feel for you, but the body and paint job was saved and now we will have the rebuild thread

BTDT too :D it is painfull to see your 1st born crash so hard ...& so much of your 1st creativity & igenuity destroyed in a split second OOPS! :mad: I think I may have invented a new language that day... some of the words that had rolled off my tongue. :o

Perhaps in 6months we could merge this thread into JDH429's thread "Funny now, not so funny then" :p

Sorry to hear and see you misfortune with Zeus :(:( Now I have a question for you- Do you have a gear reduction unit in the truck? If you didn't, shame on you!! If you did, this is the worst crash I have seen. Even Travis' and Benny's demolition derby didn't have this results :jaw: Just a good thing everything is rebuild-able unlike an airplane which is start from scratch.

It hurts to have a wreck, I know (I've done it) :eek:
But it can be fixed, as long as you were not injured in the fall. :)

thanks everyone i needed a good laugh.:p.however i did start the teardown this morning and it seems there is more damage than i thought.hey lynn i don't have a gear reduction in any of my trucks,i don't even have a speed limiter on my real truck simply because i am responsible enough not to speed:o and ususally when i am out somewhere there is always a over zealous kid trying to run after my truck while the parent usually stands there and thinks its funny until i get pissed and tell them the real cost of replacing this "toy as they call it" the other reason is i do a few parades each year and the pace to walk to keep up i would never be able to do that with a gear reduction in any of my trucks..trust me i feel bad that this has happened:mad: :(first time in 4 yrs of having this truck)and it will never happen again (hopefully) i will be beside the truck from now on or i will stop the truck ..sit down ..then start running the truck again

it seems the entire frame from the front to about midway and the crossmembers are crooked and the driveshaft (pmd) one of the eyelets in the rear u-joint is broken and the tranny housing is cracked .not sure if there is damage inside as the front frame is out of alignment but i will be checking that out today.i always have a spare set of kinghauler frame rails so i got the extensions out and started to build again with new rails .will keep everyone posted ..oh and yea watch for my wanted kinghauler parts postings soon:(

I happy I made you laugh, but I'm sorry you hurt your ankle Dwayne, as well as Zeus, Try not to strain yourself too much or you could really hurt yourself :)

As far as the rebuild, I'm just thrilled that the body wasn't damaged. I've seen the work you've put into her and it would have really broke your heart if it had cracked :jaw:

Please post pic's for the group. I'll definitely be watching for a rebuild thread :popcorn:

My folks figure that no one needs to look for the rock you threw, it's probably in orbit with how upset you were :lol:

Don't worry Zeus will not die, i googled "Can Zeus be killed?" and the answer i got was "The Greek Gods were immortal, and were never depicted as in danger of "dying" - altho Cronus tried to kill the Olympians at birth by swallowing them -which didn't work, and they could be injured like Ares was during the Trojan War."

So all Zeus got was a little banged up but i am sure the rebuild will be one to look forward to.:D

But i am sorry to hear about your crash:(

Thanks i am hoping that the mythology transfers to this truck...and keeps it around for a long time....although i don't think anyone back in those times tripped on a rock and caused this much damage to anything:o
