Congrats on the new purchase Lynn! No need to rush this one for Indy. Personally, if I had one , I would savour it like a fine wine and make sure everything is just perfect on it. :D.
Heck, if its not done in time for Indy, bring what you have done as a flatbed load??? :)

Congrats Lynn, this will be a fun build to watch. With your machine skills I could imagine all kinds of little goodies being made for this build!

Nonsense, bring that thing to Indy and build it there so we can fondle all the small parts properly ;)

Sorry Nate but I have enough problems not losing small parts on my own to let people actually watch me build this.:eek::eek: To top things off, I seem to be getting worse at dropping things these days :D

Can always build it and test it first so you know what needs improving. I won't knock you for no paint as long as you get some use out of it @ the show.

I might just do it that way. Assemble, test, and then add the paint. Should be easier to paint that way. Was going to make as few as possible sub-assemblies for painting anyway. Just about have the cab interior ready for paint now. Had to order another motor that missed the original order. Waiting on paint right now :D Trying to finish my dump truck while I wait for paint to arrive. Should have paint by the weekend :bounce:

1st update! Sorry no pics yet  Have the tracks assembled. Now I remember why I got out of the RC tanks- What a pain!! Figured I would start on the cab as it is plastic and SHOULD be a straight build. NOT!! No place in the instructions does it say or even mention that the cab fits down over the frame. So this is my 1st goof.:mad:Do not just assemble the cab without testing the inside width of the cab to the frame.

As I have built primarily military themed vehicles, I am planning on this being the same. Got the paint yesterday from Tower, Testors Model Master dark green to match my Sherman tank and other vehicles to be added to the fleet.

Going to start on the track bogie frames later today. Already found some items to replace with custom parts on the cab :D:D Can you say square lights???

More later,

Sorry for no pics but I have been busy making other things and not working on the loader. It is just setting by my computer desk gathering dust  Indy is not going to happen for the loader  Just too many other irons in the fire this year. Still need to finish some customer orders by Wed. so I can get everything together for Indy. Looks like it will be a lite cargo trip this time.
