So I have been inspired by the superb builds I have seen in here and have always loved big rigs so here is my attempt...

thanks....it started life as a Globeliner and Tamiya flatbed trailer but I wasnt happy with stock so I made some frame rails and ordered up a King Hauler cab then chopped the top of the sleeper to match roofline and made my own lengthened aluminum trailer, wasnt happy with stock Tamiya flatbed length and proportions. Am working on steps and fuel tanks and air cleaner, I am making most items out of plastic, styrene and will be painting everything so no need for the fancy shiny aluminum goodies on this project, maybe the next one.

Thanks guys, ya I'm having fun with the build and am getting inspiration from the quality builds in here. I'm just taking it slow with this build cuz I want it to be nice so I will post up steps as I go. I am on the hunt for parts still.

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see you share your first truck with us. For removing chrome you could try some Easy Off oven cleaner, or a product called Super Clean, which comes in a purple bottle or jug. I've had great luck with Super Clean. It is also strong enough to remove anodizing from aluminum, but it doesn't ruin plastics.

Made some steps, fuel tanks and grill. Not sure if I am going to leave the grill open with mesh or add some vertical or horizontal bars or slats to it...?

Thanks guys, as far as the colors I am going to do a gun metal grey cab and frame rails and everything else will be black, no chrome or bling on this one that's why I made things out of styrene instead of fancy aluminum goodies cuz it would be a shame to paint the shiny things.

So I'm getting ready to paint and do some lighting but then I realized what am I going to do with the rig once I'm done? I might run it around in the driveway but that will get boring so I hope to find some SoCal area people to have get togethers with and b.s.

Added some color today, ran out of paint so almost git it all done. Not real happy with the paint job but it'll do for now.
