Hello Gang, been sometime since I worked on anything with the babies and all, but I always wanted a snow plow for my CAT. I found a real one parked at a Home Depot by my house and I snapped a picture of it. Thanks to my buddy Eddie for the quarter pipe of aluminum, I got started. The sides are steel and the main blade is aluminum. One thing I didn't want to use are brackets, I just wanted a clean look, so now I need to braise the thing, next is to make a quick coupler for it also. Hmmm, I have no clue what to use for aluminum and steel, and I have no copper. I got some copper stock from Eddie again and went to work , so lets start with the rough cuts.

So you used a Duraflex welding rod & acetylene torch to braze?

That probably work pretty good in the dirt too, eh?

Ayoub. Nice job. I see the real ones all over the place, Exact match! Thanks for the props for some of the materials. All we need is some snow now... Then we can meet at that Home Depot and move some snow with our box plows. Love the welds!!
Thanks,
Eddie

Yep you're correct Joe on the braising, this thing is solid. It will push dirt, sand , rocks or whatever.

Cool video. The box blade looks great on the loader.

One thing I learned a long time ago is if you leave the model out in the cold a little while before running it, the tires will get cold and the snow wont stick to them. This helps a lot with traction especially in wet snow like you had. I always keep the batteries inside in the warm to keep up thier performance. Not sure what the cold would do to the hydraulics though so maybe this is not a good idea.

Thank you! This was not planned, had babies almost gonna wake up so just ran out quick to shoot a video.. Batteries always lose performance in the cold, so yes I keep them inside. I needed to stick the bucket in the snow to cool it down and scoop a clean path to set the loader down on just for the initial starting push to get more traction. Oh well good points for next time when I plan ahead :cop:
