MAN that thing is nice!!!! I was thinking of purchasing this model first, but I am not as confident with all this mechanical/hydraulic stuff. I LOVE excavators!!! Just ask my wife. So what are you going to put in as far as hydraulics?

Maybe I should get one just to admire after I put the 634 together and gain a better understanding of the hydraulics and stuff. I am still new to all this.

More pictures please, and are the track pads 50mm wide?

Thank you avel,I to love excavators and and finally have one now,I am very pleased with it ofcoarse I need to put some elbow grease in it but thats all part of the hobby I will be putting in the rc4wd hydraulic system in it along with some other upgrades a buddy of mine has the 4200 and his machine works great.
Thanks again

That looks like a nice model!! Did they send Cat stickers with your order like Oztruck? Does the new undercarriage have idler wheels. I notice from your pics they don't use cat yellow either, I didn't notice that before.

Lee I didnt get any cat stickers with it I think thats separate when you get the empty model but thats a minor issue on the stickers and yes it came with idlers and rollers just have to put in a tensioner
Just make sure your trucks ready for September so we can do some real trucking hauling

Any updates? I've been tossing up between this and barebones excavator. I'm looking for basically an empty shell to where I can do my oun hydraulics and some other work. I just don't have the equipment to make boom and body parts. And tracks are soooo time consuming. I've been skeptical about purchases from those sites, how did you pay? PayPal, credit card?

nice one - never knew you could buy the 'shell' then add the internals later..

No updates yet cooper I've been preoccupied with work and stuff,I used my credit card and their service was good.I love the machine like you said put in what you want to use as internals and there you go the machine itself I had no issues with but I am still reinforcing certain parts and making some mods and getting ready to order some parts and hopefully I will have her up and running by july.

Pics are a touch blurry, is it a 390D? Looks similar. Also where you could you find scale cat stickers?

It's a cat 345d and I will either print my own scale stickers or I will go to a local print shop and have them do it

I've got the same machine myself...) Also did purchase the empty shell. Positive points are the fine track shoes and strong track motors. The structure of the machine is just made of aluminium foil used for cooking...nearly;) Well, I've got mine in '1000' parts in a box, and working on making some reinforcements and modifications to the structure, hopefully I will get it running ok in the future)

Mines in pieces also in pieces and I don't think it's a bad machine just needs a lil upgrade and it will be a good machine
