Got everything lined up to make this happen! Gonna be a blast. Here's more info:

-Please bring folding tables, chairs, and extension cords for setting up charging stations and the like. I'll bring all I have but it may not be quite enough.

-I intend to start on Saturday around 9am and go till we can't stay awake anymore. I will have worklights setup for night playtime.

-There is a portajohn at the field and the Mobil Gas Station is a couple minutes away if that's preferred.

-Again if there is enough interest I'll make sure a Radio Programming Seminar and Battery Charging/Storage Seminar happen.

-I'm hoping to have a model turbine jet fly so you guys can see that. Pretty awesome if you've never seen it.

-At this point I'm only know that a few people are coming to this. If you could please post up and let me know if you're coming that would be great. Entry fee will be based on number of participants but I'd like to keep it $20 maximum. (All money goes to our club for use of this facility. I would like to keep this an annual event.)

(Cheaper option, I haven't looked at any reviews but have heard they recently remodeled all rooms. It's an old place but probably quite a bit cheaper. I'd be happy to look into this option for anyone if they want)

Camping:
You can camp at the field for no charge. Please see me before deciding where to park an RV or where to setup tents. Again there are no hookups for septic/water.

I've flown with electric rc vehicles many times. The thing you have to be careful with is batteries. I've put them in checked luggage before and had to argue with TSA about them. I believe technically they're illegal to carry on even though laptops and other devices also have lipo batteries. As long as you package correctly there should be no damage if you check the box/case. Pelican cases are quite handy for this purpose.

You also have the option of shipping whatever you need to me and I'll bring it to the show for you. I suppose it's all a matter of if you trust the postal system or Airport baggage-handlers more. :D

I would like to but St Louis seam to fall on one of my largest home shows of the year a big money maker for me Indy falls on a large trade show every year and with 9 "have to attend truck shows" It will be tuff to have a weekend in the summer not with a show. After last weeks meet in Michigan I'm really excited for this one. I got all my trucks ready to haul some more dirt. I orderd some spare drive lines to bring with as last weeks sand pit really put a strain on my trucks.

This is something a little to far to Drive for myself. GPS sayed 11hours driving time without Fuel stops and Breaks from my hometown.
Not only that I have only one Truck running in the moment.

Izzy and Travis came down this weekend to help get setup. Dirt is set to be delivered today/tomorrow. The pit area this year will be about 20x40. We can expand if needed. Concrete pad for show trucks is at least the same size.

Pit area will be located inside the hangar. Should we get rained out, we'll dig the rock/dirt floor inside.

For those of you on the Fence about coming to the meet, there is going to be a new product release that all of you will be thrilled to see the functioning model. I will say no more but it's a really exciting product. I plan to make a video and put it on the site for those that can't make it but you gotta see this thing in person!

I will be there as well as Izzy and Travis. Probably some others as well. Anyone is welcome to come out early. I think I have the setup handled. Part of the setup will be moving the piles of dirt we have coming. We can choose to do whatever activity we want in the dirt, but probably most of the weekend will be road-building so we can bring in less-capable trucks through the site. Should be fun, we got the entrance road roughed in and built a cool single-lane bridge over the drainage ditch on Saturday.

All-y'all need to come to this event. The site is great - the hangar ( yes a hangar for a full sized airplane) has a gravel floor, but they have carpets all the way around the perimeter , so a road truck can navigate the perimeter.

It's gonna be great!

The dozer was just a toy one of the vendors put out there for a load. I would say he is referring to the Carson loader.

Big shout to Nathan for setting this up and to Travis and Izzy for them helping Nathan before we all got there. This is going to be a great place to meet hopefully a couple times a year! I want to give a big thanks to Nate for a wonderfull weekend we all had a greate time. For those that did not show up we got to see a demenstation of a fuel pwered RC jet which was just amazing, the only bad part was Nate ended up playing buy himself for a little while as we stoped to watch the jet. O and the food was amazing as well.

Nate...This event was truely great. The location was perfect and the Eli field grounds were way above my expectation. Thanks for hosting this event

I think we all Had a great time be it working on trucks in the hanger or running in the dirt pile. All day Saturday We had about 2-3 machines and 2-3 dump trucks running at any one time. Some times even more. I didn't get any pics as I had left my camera at home but I know others did. I hope we can do this again in the fall months.

Thanks Nate for putting this together and Izzy and Travis for helping the previous weekend. Also would like to thank the Horizon Hobbies Upper management for such a nice facility and the chance to be able to enjoy it :D. Also thanks to Mr Pete for cooking for us and the great hospitality. I appreciate everyone for looking after Liam and accepting and youngster in an adult hobby:) he had a great time and was wore out on the trip back home. As for the dozer - exceeded my expectations - we found that the 100:1 firgelli with a modified upper link was critical. The track tensioner springs need to be heavier and a saber tooth 2x12 is plenty of speed control.
Everyone had a go at the controls as much as they wanted and nobody seemed to be complaining.

Based on how they did in dirt - I suspect Indy will be a blast.

I want to thank those that came out to the event. Our entry fees were able to raise a decent amount of cash to go towards supporting the club and them letting us use this space at the field permanently. I paid for the dirt and lunches for the convenient location being right near my house. I had hoped for a bit bigger head count of both drivers and spectators when compared to last years St. Louis show. I'm planning to do another meet in the fall if there's enough interest. Early October would give us some time to recover from Indy and should still have nice weather.

From now on, every meet entry fee will depend on participants. Our club president Pete informed us of another option that any of you guys can register for a "Supporting Membership" on our site. It's $25 for the year and won't give you any voting rights for the club but will save you $ if you plan on coming out more than once a year. (The option isn't there on the form but you can mark down "Construction Member" or something like that so they know.)

I also want everyone's feedback. (even if you didn't come) What did you like? What would you change? Should the meet only run from dawn to night on Saturday only? How much time do you need to plan for going to a meet? Was the Best Western too expensive? I wasn't able to get a group discount with this few people this time. Think she said at least 15 rooms for that.

Thanks again. Forget a meet, if anyone has an itch to move dirt, I can bring my stuff to the field anytime and play! I only have so much space in the house but I don't mind having people stay here.

The cost was spot on - could be higher IMO .
I have about 6hr of driving and about 2-3 hr of prep. This time I brought the bridge and the docks so 3 prep and put away.

Yes, I would like to hold this event at least twice a year. Indy is August 22-24. I'm thinking second week of October (11-12). Don't want to get too late in October for cold weather.

For this next show we will be laying down some concrete roads so that stock trucks can pull dump trailers around the pits. It was suggested also that we mix some top soil into the sand. That is no problem either.
