Hi everybody!!!

Male from Sweden, 43years old.
I just became on sick leave due to back pain.
And now I'm in serious need of a project to dispel my thoughts.

When I was a child I loved to build models and figured now was a good time to start over, but in r/c.
I'm thinking about my first project and it will probably be a King Hauler.
I really love these "big old american" semi-truck.

About the King Hauler kit:
Any suggestions on upgrades that are strongly recommending directly from the kit?
I know there's lots you can do to modify these models, but do you know any weak points that are good to upgrade from the start, I'll gratefully accept suggestions?

Welcome to the best forum on the web!!

King Hauler upgrades- The limit depends upon your bank account :D:D The 1 thing that is almost a must is a mechanical fix- you need to add some sort of gear reduction unit to slow the truck down to manageable speeds. Using a high turn motor and a smaller pinion will work but it leaves you with a lot less torque than a gear reduction unit. There are a few units out there that are reasonable in price. Integy is one of the best and normally it can be found for a nice price.

Hope this helps!

if I was wouldnt worry about a Gear reduction unit, I would just change your motor to something like this Carson Truck Puller Motor, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carson-1-14-Truck-Puller-Motor-For-Tamiya-1-14-Trucks-/111349566563?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item19ecf38c63

or something like a 70 turn or 80 turn motor.

Like that AD-toTrans 4:1 from GardenTrucking.

But by simply replacing the motor like Kingcam2 says is perhaps the easiest and cheapest way.

Thanks guys, please keep on make suggestions on upgrades

i would definitely recommend grinding/filing the front axle to increase the steering angle, because as stock it's like the HMS Titanic for turning circle. There should be a thread on it here somewhere.

Thanks for the input twowheeldan!

Just ordered my King Hauler Kit (Black edition) :)
What MFU goes best whith the King Hauler?

ThereĀ“s three to choose from.... MFC-01, MFC-02 and MFC-03

So which is best suited for the King Hauler?!?

The MFC-01 is the best unit to suit the King Hauler, the 01 is for US trucks, the 02 for pickups, and the 03 for Euro trucks. Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the best online place for RC trucks, if these guys don't know about it, it probably isn't worth knowing! B)

Thanks Berman.

Understood that MFC-01 and -03 is for big trucks (-01 US and -03 Euro).
But is it not annoying (on -01) that the turn signal turns on as soon as you turns slightly?
On -03, you can self determination concerning when the turn signal is to be activated.

Yes I agree, it is a lot more luxurious driving with the 03, it is also a lot smoother than the 01 (more linear throttle vs sound) it has a headlight flash function, false starting, it rev matches when changing down, it is less abrubt when accelerating and braking...

There is only a couple of very small details I don't like about the 03: no Jake brake, hazards (winkers/turn signals) flash quickly when in trailer coupling mode, and truck beeps and flashes if you turn transmitter off first. But they are small things when compared to how nice the new 03 is :)

Dont forget to post pics of your new truck Jonas!
