i am new to this forum, and let me tell ya i love it! i wanna thank rclogger for everything he has posted i would still be lost if not for him. but i a in need of some help. i am starting a 1:14 excavator build and i want it to beas close to a cat as possible and i might even buy the bruder toy version for the detailed cab and hood. what i am in need of is some dimensions for both booms and the bucket. any help would be appreciated
Well some people buy a 1:50 model and measure off of it. Do you have a particular model in mind?

Thats what I do. Its an easy way to get all the details and dimensions needed. :D

so does that mean that their is a quick and easy formula to convert the measurements to 1:14 scale? :D

Sure, take your 1/50 scale dimension and multiply it by 3.57, the answer will be your 1/14 scale dimension. Divide your model's scale by the scale you want to model and that's how you get your formula. 50 divided by 14 =3.57. Check out my vario project, I'm doing this but using a 1/64 scale model to convert to 1/14, so I'm using 4.57 to get 1/14 scale dimensions. Math can be cool. :)

thankx for the info!:bounce: your build thread was interesting! i will be making a trip to the nearest coastal!
Buying the bruder for a detailed body is a low cost method. May not be as scale as we would like to think though
