Hello everyone,

my Name is Peter, I'm living in Dortmund, Germany. I'm busy with RC Trucks since 3 years.

I started with a Tamiya Knight Hauler.

After finishing it, I started to customize it. I extended the truck to a 6x6 and moved the battery into the sleeper.

Here's a picture of the inside, the battery is located in the sleeper and the charging is done via the box below the right cabine door.

After finishing the truck I was searching for a new challenge. One day I drove home and in the mirror I saw the front of the new Mercedes Benz "New Actros". I loved it and wanted to have it. At that time the Tamiya Actros was not on sale (and not known), so I started to build my own Actros at October 2012.

This was the first part

5 month later I had this driving around in our garden.

After such a long time working on a german truck, it was time to step over to a non european truck again. I decided to build an australian roadtrain, a Kenworth C509. The cabine and the sleeper are basically finished, the side doors of the sleeper can be opened, they will allow to get access to the On/Off switch, the charging and other interfaces for the sound module and my own Arduino modules.

It started with this

At the moment this project is pausing.

The Knight Hauler needs a refresh, my son had a horrible crash. The Bullbar is completely broken, the dumper is broken and the cabine has a small damage. So I decided to give him a complete refresh.

Here are some pictures of the actual state

If you are interested in a thread about the creation of the New Actros or the roadtrain, please let me know.

OK, that's it for the moment, your comments and thoughts are much appreciated.

Yes please start a thread on both builds! What do you have the Arduino control? Did you make the Kenworth cab yourself?

Welcome to the forum. Great models! I'd love to see your build threads as I'm sure most others will too. So please post them.

Done, the threads for the roadtrain and the Mercedes Benz are started.

For development I'm using the Arduino UNO board. My development environment is the Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 with the Visual Micro IDE for Arduino (http://www.visualmicro.com/).

After the code is working I'm soldering stand alone boards for the chip.
