Hello all.I have been wanting to build a new dump truck for a while now. I still have my blue one with the pup trailer but its time for a new addition. I also got the bug really bad after seeing Brian in pa dump trucks and talking to Rod(stepside) about his aeromax dump he is building. The final straw was when Ih Steve delivered my new coal bucket, and Since then its been game on. First thing was a set of IH Steve's frame rails cut to 29.5''.

I started building this truck from the rear to the front because the suspension would be a Chalmers suspension that I milled and it has to fit under the box along with the lift axles.

This is the first shot of the suspension. There is a spring inside the bag that adjusts for loads

I have more pictures of the suspension to come. Next were the lift axles,I looked at Henderson suspension and robbed some ideas from there.

Project Shot Gun will have 3 lift axles with self steering and spring returns.I cnc'ed the axles, hangers, trailing arms and various other suspension parts to get it to function on all types of terrain. Next installment will be the drive line. Thanks for looking.

I'm back. This time we will tackle the driveline. I bought some Integy axles after seeing them on one of Travis rigs and thought they would be perfect for this rig, plus I wanted this truck to be all wheel drive(selectable).I chose a R2
trans with a dig to control the 4wd vs the 6wd.
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh16/liftaxle/REGENAIAMANDDUMPTRUCKPICS069_zpsc4962e2b.jpg (http://s252.photobucket.com/user/liftaxle/media/REGENAIAMANDDUMPTRUCKPICS069_zpsc4962e2b.jpg.html)

So now, axles are in .Check. Lift axles in. Check. Rear drive shafts in, carrier bearings in. Check.Tranny installed .Check.
Installed servos and made up spring returns for servo down pressure to save my servos when on uneven terrain.

and the MONEY shot.

I like the fact that there is plenty of clearance when the axles are raised.Thats it for now.

Hello everyone, a few mock up pictures of the front suspension. This truck has available 6wd with the use of the RS trans with a dig, so I went with the Lesu front springs and mounts.

I had to machine a set of control arms for the integy front axle for them to clear the front super single wheels.I will snap some pics of those as soon as the paint dries.

That's it for now.

Hey everyone, its me again. No real changes yet as I am waiting on some parts to get back from the chromer .Here is a update. I have 4 polished dump trucks and trailers and that's a lot of work to get them polished, so I painted this box:eek::eek:
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh16/liftaxle/flame%20trucks%20005_zps0kxjabt1.jpg (http://s252.photobucket.com/user/liftaxle/media/flame%20trucks%20005_zps0kxjabt1.jpg.html)

I also added clear 3mm lenses down the side with blue leds.I reworked my tailgate and added a micro servo to open and close the tailgate. That black prop holds my bed up while I do wiring. The pump there is a UMS pump with frame mounted brackets. As soon as my wheels and grill come back I will mount the body and start her up.
