Re: L Model MACK Wrecker

Thanks for the comments guys. Tim I like that tow truck and the build you are doing of it but the truck I am going after is like a truck that the junk guys used. They have the boom on a cable so they can use the hoist cable to pick up the item and back up to a trailer or truck and let the boom down to move the item over the target and then hoist it down kind of a poor man's fork lift or loader and they could tow a vehicle as well.

Thanks Paul and yes I got it mounted. I also wandered how strong the styrene boom would be and it turns out it is stronger than the winches.:D

Re: L Model MACK Wrecker

Travis to boost your winch power - run a catch block on the boom and hook back to your base - this doubles your power since there are now 2 strands holding

......sorry - can't help but let some engineer loose on ya.....

Re: L Model MACK Wrecker

Izzy the winch has plenty of power but has no holding ability one over rides the other but thinking about it that should help my holding ability as well. Hmm thanks Izzy.

Re: L Model MACK Wrecker

Nice build! You amaze me in how you hide all of the electronics in your builds. Lots of stuff stuffed into a small area.

What is the paint scheme for this little truck?

Re: L Model MACK Wrecker

Thanks Lynn the truck will be a yellow cab with black fenders and steps. Now I need some better rims.
