Some interesting stuff. I thought Cat quit making on road engines??

Re: A couple build ideas
WOW!! Now that you have put out a challenge, where can we get some blueprints or drawings or lots more pics??? Almost forgot, what scale is the crawler crane if you know?
|
Re: A couple build ideas
The crane is 1/50th. Definitely a challenge for Kerst:D Here's a link to it.
http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default...posts&t=128112 I wonder what's with the Cat undercarriage display? That does show some nice detail for a build. . |
Re: A couple build ideas
the 450 would be easy lol a cat haul truck on quad tracks and build the pull pan sucks i can't build anything right now looks like fun

Re: A couple build ideas
That asphalt batch plant would be neat to see at one of the truck shows!:)
And here I thought all the new on-highway CAT trucks were all just going to be Internationals with CAT badges.....guess they came up with at least one unique body style. -Alex |
Re: A couple build ideas
The asphalt plant is sweeet!! I wonder what scale it is? Hmmm? The Cat trucks defiantly have International looks in the hood still. The cab is International all the way.

Re: A couple build ideas
But their website says a complete Cat powertrain, would lead me to believe a Cat engine and tranny. We'll see when the actual specs come out I guess.
That track link display looks neat, the links look different that waht I'm used to seeing is that new? I mean usually I see what looks like half links for every link, but this is more like regular chain links with outside and inside plates???? |

Re: A couple build ideas
Great looking hot plant... wonder if it functions?
I mean, belts move, hot drum turns, etc. |
Re: A couple build ideas
Here is more information on the asphalt plant at Con Expo. Would be very nice in 1/16th scale and operational!

Re: A couple build ideas
Astec's portable 6pack would be way cool to haul and setup. I've had my eye on the portable surge bin when I first saw it a few years ago which searching for equipment. Here's a link with brochures/videos/info.

Re: A couple build ideas
Yes the asphalt plant is close to 1:16, I'll post picture's after I get my taxes done. I took about 250 picture's of the show last week. The Maxforce 15 engine is Cat's block and IH from the head gasket up, had a long talk with one of the rep's over the new engine.
