There's "normal", and then there's "NORMAL". Take a look at the mirrors on Tesla's production semi-tractor. That thing's got a centrally mounted driver seat, a wrap-around panoramic view from the driver's seat, and mirrors that are hanging WAY out in the breeze.

I think "normal" is whatever lets you see the guy behind you.
