Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Got he body work almost done, just a few things left before paint tomorrow(painting frame, axles and etc too.) Got a another steering axle installed, it just clears the driveshaft. Also got all the holes drilled for the lights&horns. Getting closer.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Decided to use the long frame for a up and coming project. I swapped in the Globe liner frame, really liking the work truck look with the short wheelbase. Might change the paint up to a two tone, green top and white bottom.
New Pete emblem. Stole the tires off of the Globe liner too. Got the new rear bumper mounted.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Yet again, swapped the frame...this time for a regular king hauler frame, but painted it to match the cab. It will be a slow process but I plan on painting all the frame components.
I was missing a few parts with the mirrors but I got them mounted. Picked up some more polished stainless sheets today too. Plan is to put in on the top of the rails for a clean look...I hope. Got new RC4WD super wide tires. I really like them, they fit on the stock wheels just fine. Top view of the wheel. Inside view of the wheel. And a few more shots.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Those tires are sweet. I really liked the longer frame, large car look, but I'm guessing you've got your reasons! Maybe just spray some metallic black on the fenders and the top of the cab roof, rather then respray? I think that would look pretty sharp.

Darwin would like you. Definitive proof that evolution works!
No harm in changing your mind, you are just fine tuning the look and style that you want and sometimes that is only figured out by trial and error. Nice work man.

Thanks! Lol!!!!!......Yeah, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with this truck. This is my first mini-truck build, have so many ideas, but I think I got it locked down now. You got to love trial and error.

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Not to much to update, just painted some detail pieces. I decided not to run after market steps or tanks, RC fund is running dry. I did order a custom visor, and a RUSSISLOUD headache rack and west coast bumper.
Here are my parts drying....garage is too cold....8" of snow here is Seattle!

Re: Project: Lloyd (Tamiya King Hauler)
Did some more work on the truck today. Painted the hitch plate, dash, steering wheel, seats, shocks and tank brackets. I also added more polished stainless on the top of the frame rails. I also used some strong double sticky tape and mounted the 2S 2500mah lipo underneath the bigger piece next to the cab.
