Are you loading the files from thingiverse into your cad program and changing them to print what you need? What software are you using?

pretty much, if it's a good model, i can go from thingverse to the slicer program for the printer, but to modify i use straight autocad, autocad fusion 360, tinkercad, meshmixer, whatever it takes to get the results.. lol and some are just for conversion from one file format to another.
