I do want to paint the frame, but I was thinking black. I want to be a "work truck". I will have to think on the same color as the cab.
I need a different motor, the stock 540 is waaaayyyyy to fast, I believe I have heard you guys say a 55turn is a good way to go.? I hope to build a four axle dump down the road and I'd like to have my fleet have the same color scheme. Thanks FabOne, you and Stepside really inspired me to buy/ build... now I've got the bug for trucks too. -Ben |

That is a clean looking truck that looks ready to work. Lowboy will look good behind that with the skidder.

Here's some progress pics of my lowboy. It will be (hopefully) r/c detachable neck. I am waiting on a linear actuator and I'll get a bit further. I have used screws, rivets and Muggy weld (works great) on it.

Looking real good Ben, your skidder looks great on the lowbed. What is Muggy Weld I have never heard of that up North ?

Here it is Greg- http://www.muggyweld.com/index2.html it took me a little bit to get the hang of it, but I nearly have it down now. Very pleased with the results!!

Boy, that skidder is going to be a perfect load. The trailer looks great. How are you keeping the main beams and cross members all together?

I cut out pockets (square) in the center beams then riveted them and the outer beams will be Muggy welded.

Ben - trailer is coooming along nicely ..... I like your choice of ride height - should be able to go over most bridges .....

Not too much has changed. Made a battery tray for the truck, beaver tailed the frame, added headache rack, muggy welded the trailer side rails, real close to having the neck operational....
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hopefully more progress (Steve/wheels, hint, hint) in a another week or two. I have a set of floats and roadies on hand to add also. Ben |

Ben, that under side shot of the trailer answers my question very well, but what exactly is Muggy weld? I really like your trailer. The detachable neck looks like it will be very functional. Good job. Looking forward to the updates.
