No sir I don't have that info. As of this time, I've yet to start building either of those kits. I've heard others that have said the same thing about that seller. I guess I was one of the lucky one's that actually got the merchandise that was ordered. I'm sorry that this happened to you folks. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
The HobbyCo bankruptcy has really messed EVERYTHING up! I went to the LHS today to try & acquire some square brass tubing, brass sheets, brass "C" Channels, as well as some more brass tubing. I need to acquire this stuff fir the Weyerhaeuser log truck build. I'm on a first name basis with the LHS owner. We talked fir several minute today about the bankruptcy, & how it's affecting the hobby supplies. He CAN;T order K+S brass stock no more. His supply chain was through a HobbiCo Company, Great Planes. Since K+S WON'T ship to Great Planes fir now, he'd have to place an order of at LEAST $1,000.oo to place an order directly with K+S. Even some parts fir RC trucks, & cars he's NOT able to order. Even Tacoma RC Raceways (The other LHS that has the indoor track, AND hosts the National Indoor Series of races) is having troubles finding parts. I guess that tomorrow, after work, I'll have to hit Evilbay, &/or Amazon to try & scrounge up enough materials that I can get started on this build. I tried Home Dumpster, & Lowes today, but they DON'T have brass stock that is as small as I am needing.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
Hydraulic help needed. I plan to build another dump truck, but this one will have hydraulics to dump it. I don't know a lot about hydraulic units. If I run the Hydraulic pump from an ESC, (Obviously we have to) do I need a valve to make the box operate, or can I just run the pump fwd/rev to control dump hoist up/down?
IF I must use a valve, I was thinking about this one. http://www.magomhrc.com/en/m3-valves...lve-m3-v2.html Problem is, it has 4 connection ports, but the hydraulic cylinder ONLY has 2 ports. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
You should look for a complete setup. In the end it’s not more expensive than getting individual parts. Magom is generally cheaper. Then you have Ledu and up to Premacon.
|
Re: Skeeters contracting services
No need for a valve Skeeter. Check out these kits.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
Didn’t catch that you already had bought a system. Do you know the brand? If it’s originally dedigned without a valve, it shoud work with any ESC that’s support fwd/rew. Brush/ brushless is then the only question.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
It's a LESU HYDRAULIC KIT. I don't have pics of it. Semi Joe on EvilBay has a few pics of it. Here's one of his pics. Mine is exactly the same unit, sorry it's a SMALL picture.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
If the cylinder has only one fitting then iTS
A forward to fill and reverse to empty setup Like my super dumper. If there are two fittings Then you need a valvebody to Chang flow directions |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I'll have to dig it out, & see how many connections it has. It was a long time ago I bought it. According to the Evilbay purchase history, I bought it in late 2016.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
SORRY the pics are so large. I accidently posted them NOT realizing that they were the LARGE sized pictures, rather then the MEDIUM sized.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
I got some goodies in the mail today! The 8 new cheapo ESC units, they arrived me. Also was the final brass stock I need to begin to build the log trucks headache rack. The nuts for the 2MM scale bolts that were acquired from RC4WD a while back came too. The bolts were direct from RC4WD, the nuts weren't available, so I ordered them from China. The local stores, Fastenall, & Tacoma Screw Products DIDN'T offer anything below 3mm.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4626/...299ce368_z.jpg121 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr As soon as I get the logging truck as far along as I can go with it..............Still trying to source materials for the trailer build, then I'll be moving onto the New Bright Firetruck! Frizzy, I know that'll make you happy. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I got the motor mounts back form the machine shop today for the 4200XL excavator this afternoon. :bounce:
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4740/...6c078e72_z.jpgunnamed 141 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr I sent BOTH mounts, & one motor to the shop, so they knew exactly what I was wanting done. When they came back, they were BOTH on the motor, & secured with the set screws. They said they packaged them together like that so that the set screws WOULDN'T get lost. That was thoughtful of them, & a nice touch of customer service too. :) The 4200XL Excavator is now back together again, with Soyland Industries upgraded motors in it:bounce: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4609/...88ddedb2_z.jpgunnamed 137 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr Shortly after I got home with the motor mounts, my phone rang. :p A feller that had a broken pop-up canopy called me about a Craigslist ad he had posted for it. He was offering it to anyone that wanted it for scrap. The legs on it are about perfect size for the telescoping metal that I need to build the logging trucks trailer. I rushed over to meet him, & pick it up. FRIZZY THANK-YOU sir for teaching me how to think OUTSIDE the box. :) Before I found that, I had tried EVERY source I can think of to acquire this stuff. Either it was way too large diameter wise, or had WAY too much slop (like 1/4 of an inch) when the pieces were inserted together. I had been to Metal Supermarkets as well as Onlinemetals.com (they have a branch near enough to me I drove there in person) Evilbay, ALL 8 of the LHS, from Hobby Lobby, to the small mom & pop ones, & even the arts & craft stores in the area..............NOBODY had it  Change in plans! :cop:I know that I said the New Bright fire engine would be the next project, BUT.....The Facebook group Pacific Northwest Scale Truck & Equipment (PNWSTE is hosting the next gathering on 3-10-18. There AREN'T any dozers but my lil Bruder D4 conversion. :o I'll be putting the Bruder D11 dozer at the top of the project list. I need to get it done for the meet. :D The D4 just isn't big enough to keep up with my 4200XL, now that I got er going again, let alone the OTHER 4200XL that'll be there too!:jaw: The other one has been extensively modified, painted, and transformed into a Link Belt machine. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
Before I got the call that the motor mounts were done fir the 4200XL, I cut the cord! :)

I HAVEN'T forgotten about the Subaru WRX, just had other projects in the works. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
Sounds like you've been busy!
The excavators looking good with the better motors. Come on, now you're just trying to flatter me. I just like poking you to work on stuff and not be afraid to try doing weird things with it. Very few here build straight kits, or leave them stock for long, so it takes some extra creativity. It's a little more fun to see what was scrounged to look and work right than seeing an unboxing pic. "If it's stupid, but it works, it's not stupid" You set up a meet, and arranged a venue to let everybody go play and be entertaining, that's way more impressive than 'some guy on the internet said i should do a fire truck.' Yeah, free the WRC! Ya know, that's a really nice looking Impreza... I'd probably suggest doing the subaru before moving on to the ladder truck, since there's gonna a lot less going on in the scooby. |

I'm excited for the meet to run the new motors in that machine. I HOPE the weather cooperates for us. Right now the ground here is frozen. I haven't even had a change to try out the new motors............YET. I CAN'T take ALL teh credit for organizing the events. All I did was host the first event at my place. The 3 of us that were there decided it'd be awesome to have a group of folks with similar interests get together monthly for RC Construction, & trucking fun! The Subaru is easy peezy, compared to the firetruck. It'll not much different then doing the New Bright tractor conversion. |

As IF I needed to undertake MORE projects:rolleyes:.................I saw this on one of the FB pages. I dig it! I searched for one, but was having troubles finding it. I FINALLY broke down & asked the builder where she go it from. She was nice enough to send links to it, & I bought it. Since PAPE machinery controls the CAT dealerships in the PNW (IDK about other areas, they might there too) & their trucks are all white, I plan to paint it white, & slap some PAPE logo's on it. I'll have to cut the umbilical cord off this one as well. Should be an easy conversion, I HOPE! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4615/...658f1e69_z.jpgservice truck possible RC converted by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr While I was at Fred Meyer the other day, I found these. Thinking outside the box, they may work well for trailer umbilical lines. At $o.99 each, if they DON'T work as I think they would, I have something to help repel those dam mosquitoes this summer:cool: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4757/...7d01c060_z.jpgunnamed 142 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr Here's a lil progress on the D11 build. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4649/...b9d37a7f_z.jpgD11 being built by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr :cop: Those lead strips are ONLY there to prevent stuff from going where I DON'T want it to go. I plan to take epoxy, a ziplock bag, & BB's to made weigh for the dozer. Since I have some bolts that hold the track assemblies on it, I MAY at some point need to remove the weights to access them bolts :D Once I get the weight for the front half completed, I'll move ALL them strips to the rear of the machine, where they will remain. There's some bolts at the rear too, that I may need to access in the future. If I just molded the weight WITHOUT those strips back there, it WOULDN'T be good.:p The weight would mold into such a shape that removal of it to access said bolts would be almost, if not impossible to do. Once the weather warms up a lil more (Currently 32 degrees here...............Epoxy directions say for use at 50 degrees & above) I'll get the weights made for it. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I made a lil progress on the Bruder D11 conversion today. The weather FINALLY wormed up enough that I was able to do some epoxy work. I mixed Epoxy, & bb's then placed them in the bags, & formed them to the cat.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
The Bruder D11 conversion isn't going together the way I saw it in my head. :o I had to rethink the drive sprocket extensions. I needed a thicker sidewall on the pipe sp that the set screws had more surface area to grab onto. The originals stripped out WITHOUT even pushing anything. I found that out when I drove it on the garage floor for about 10 minutes. Here's a shot of the old version side by side with the new design. I had COULDN'T find the right size ID of this pipe, so I had to drill out the center so that it would fit over the existing motor stub, & extension stubs.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4678/...d31d145d_z.jpgwall thickness by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr When I tried to place the thing together with a battery inside it, I realized I had an problem. :o There wasn't enough room & it wouldn't allow the top to snap onto it. So I threw away the weights that I had cast for it, & started over. A few 20, 26, 12, & 8 ounce teardrop Sturgeon fishing weights, & a lil time with the BFH to reshape them, & here's what I now have. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4606/...521dc86e_z.jpgBruder D11 wight re-design by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I just found this on eveilbay. Such a good price when compared to the Tamoya MFU kit, that I couldn't help myself...............I had to get one. A friend of mine that has one already & loves it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GT-Power-7-...0AAOSwfoNacEFx

Re: Skeeters contracting services
For those pondering about a Bruder D5 conversion..........................Here's a neat lil trick to prevent the drive sprockets from slipping. I took a Zip Tie, & made the sprocket teeth longer. I used a hand saw to cut grooves into the sprocket teeth. Then I inserted the small pieces that I had cut from the Zip Tie into them, & super glued them in place. I haven't tried it out.....YET! I will try it out another day, after the glue has a chance to thoroughly dry. I WISH I could take credit for this idea! I seen it somewhere else, & CAN'T remember where.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
The method I posted above for eliminating the Bruder drive sprocket from slipping inside the tracks, seems to work well. I got a chance to try it out for a few minutes the other day. There was no track slippage to report. Time will tell how well they are going to hold up to continued usage.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
Hi Skeeter
Looking good glad to see the progress you are making |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I made a lil progres on the Bruder D10 conversion today. I've already tested the drivability of the tracks, & redesigned to work out the issues I found there. I still have a lil more to do with this thing, but she's getting nearer to being ready to run! Here's a lil vid of todays progress.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
It's ALIVE! FINALLY! this thing took a LOT of thinking, rethinking, trial & errors, but it's finally operatable. Although it's plastic, it's still functional. I LOVE the Bruder D5 conversion that I did. Even though it was plastic, it's still al lil workhorse. If this thang is as much of a workhorse as that one is I'll be very happy with it!
The weather here in WA state today is dreary wet & raining. I was hoping to take er out to the dirt today & see how well it would do. Due to weather this lil teaser video inside the workshop will have to suffice for now. https://youtu.be/E454JEG7lbU |

Re: Skeeters contracting services
Where to start......So many things have went on since I last posted here!
RC Land...............My pit area for RC Trucking & COnstruction fun. It started off looking like this https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4795/...9bc7c31b_z.jpgSkeeters Contracting Services1 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr We found out that ot was too steep. The trucks kept spinning out on the hills. SO...............We changed it to this https://farm1.staticflickr.com/794/4...8ef96c3c_z.jpgIMG_0281 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr Then After teh trucks can make it to the pit at the top, we had to get that part ready too. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/807/4...d84935fc_z.jpgIMG_0282 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/884/4...bd12498e_z.jpgIMG_0284 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/876/2...a871175e_z.jpgIMG_0283 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/794/2...a933193e_z.jpgrcland2 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/794/2...a933193e_z.jpgrcland2 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
You’ll have alot of fun there :)
|
Re: Skeeters contracting services
Nice!! Now that the weather is starting to get a little warmer here I need to do some similar!! You've motivated me to getting stuff around and start enjoying the RC stuff!!
|
Re: Skeeters contracting services
I've got more to post, but I hit a wrong button last night, & accidentally closed RCTruck&construction tab, instead of the Flickr tab. I'll try again later today.
|
Re: Skeeters contracting services
that's a sweet little work area you have there. look forward to seeing more progress.
|
Re: Skeeters contracting services
egronvold, YEs sir It'll be a TON of fun, once the Washington State weather cooperted & dries out a bit!
Cooper, Glad I can motivate to get your play area ready. Efroeh, thank-you sir. It's NOT done............YET! I've got a few more finishing touches to add to it before then. As I said earlier, I have been doing a LOT of stuff around here lately. I trird to pot it last night, but closed the post, instead of thr Flicker tab I was trying to close. I'll try it again............ Ontop of all the work goign on in RC Land, I mae a lil progress on the loggin truck. I bought the back bumper plate from Reg. The Pintle hitch was from Garden Trucking. I still have to mount the safety chains for it. The empty holes are for more red lights. It came with 2 clear & 2 red lights. I removed the clear ones in favor of more tail lights. This will EVENTUALLY be a PNW style logging truck. Much like Lou has built. For now the 5th wheel plate will stay on, & it'll pull a hyrack style log trailer. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/820/3...5827c4fa_z.jpgLogging truck by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr In between rain squalls, I've been working on a few scale items https://www.flickr.com/photos/157093...posted-public/ The FIRST batch cast https://farm1.staticflickr.com/865/4...a9f48d11_z.jpgbricks2 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr NOT perfect, bu they will work as scale loads for a Tamiya flatbed trailer. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/867/4...aa698c3b_z.jpgBricks1 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr I bought a scale Jersey barrier. They claimed it was 12th scale. In reality it is closer to 14th scale. It was about $24.oo for that ONE barrier with the shipping. I decided I could mold my own far cheaper. The mold making compound OOMOO30 (I'd use OOMOO25 IF I did er again) was $32.oo delivered. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/813/2...3c7d0b50_z.jpgmold2 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/800/2...d2d4bffe_z.jpgMOLD8 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/882/3...c726a6a1_z.jpgMOLD9 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr The material I am using to cast, I found at Homedumpster. CEMENTALL https://farm1.staticflickr.com/868/2...83ef4ac1_z.jpgmold 1 by Anthony Kalnoski, on Flickr I LOVE this stuff. NO shrinkage like with concrete/cement, & IF the room temperature is at or above 70 degrees, it'll cure in an hour! Since the temps here are no where near that................nearer to 50(ish) I'm avergain about 1.5-2 hours cure time. |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
The hayrack trailer that'll be towed behind the truck for now. The trailer was acquired from Corbett Trailers.

Re: Skeeters contracting services
Awesome looking haul road, can't wait to see it in action.
I like the looks of the blocks and barriers, looks like you're getting the hang of molding them |
Re: Skeeters contracting services
Frizzy, there was definitely a learning curve to molding the blocks!
Here's a lil video of the Bruder Mack conversion in RCland. It's traveling at top speed in this video. I wish I had used slightly faster gear motors in this build. Since they are what I have in it, they will stay there & be used. https://youtu.be/INN2MNyO8gw |
