Re: Hauling Dirt out of my basement (present day)

Nice save joe-I wonder if a real excavator could do that? I don't think so. I couldn't tell but did your bucket hit the ground as you were swinging and maybe stopped it from turning over.

Re: First build ,cat D11

Cooper-dozer is coming along nicely. You mentioned the bushings in the gear-motors. I think you will find that the bushings work better in the dirt than bearings. Dirt getting into bearings is a...

Re: Marion 182M Stripping Shovel

Hi jim-I did do a build thread on the "garden trucking" site. The pictures were lost when they shut down. Casting the pads were easy but making the master part was the hard part. It took about 15...

What do you mean? Do you want me to send a copy of the pictures to you? I have 104 pictures of the build thread.

Marion 182M Stripping Shovel

On my profile page I have created an album with some of the build pictures that I took while building this model if anyone is interested. It is a 1/30-th semi-scale model of a machine that was built...

Re: D11T DOZER 1/14TH #2

Looks like "dozer mania" has hit this site. Your dozer is coming along nicely. It's always fun to get some paint on the models. Keep working.

Re: D11 New Project

Great work on the "triple dozers". The speed of this one looks realistic. Your attention to details places this dozer very high on the great builds list. Looking forward to more progress.

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

Looks good-what is the purpose of the gear next to the sprocket on the drive motor? I saw this on the pictures of the sprocket when you were making them and didn't understand but thought it would...

Re: just wondering

cosworth34677-ARE YOU ON DRUGS :cop: Just kidding. :D This is just the world we live in. When I bought my first new car way back in 1964 it was a bad a$$ GTO with every speed option that I could get....

Re: First build ,cat D11

Thanks for the comments-sorry I don't have a picture showing the entire track but you can get an idea of the size. Your track looks to be well kept and I can't help but notice the lake. I was...

Re: First build ,cat D11

Cooper-I don't want to get your thread off topic but you talking about the r/c car track got me going for a trip down memory lane. Here is a track I built behind my house in about 1995. We formed a...

Re: First build ,cat D11

Cooper-your grousers may be okay. That is just the 1st. thing my eyes focus on when looking at your tracks. Right or wrong-I don't have a clue. I have never even seen a D11 in person. I just know...

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

Joe-what I meant to say was that I did not use the transmitter for programming. Maybe that is where I went wrong.

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

Yes joe-I was using the sabertooth dual esc. I didn't use the trans. I just flipped the switch to mixing and it worked great going forward but if I tried backing up when I let off the throttle the...

Re: First build ,cat D11

Cooper-since you are not building a scale model, don't worry about the small details. If you hadn't mentioned the small rollers I probably wouldn't have noticed. I think the grousers (being thick and...

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

Joe-I had the dual motor setup in the wheels on my 777. I tried the mixing and it decreased the turning radius by 5" but it would not work in reverse. The wheels would just lock up. Maybe I was doing...

Re: Using photo hosting sites.

Fhhhstix-I would like to see you enforce (or make) a rule to make people use photo hosting sites. On my computer it takes a lot of time to open some of the photos. I think it depends on the time of...

I can see the pictures but it takes forever to load each one. Why don't you just copy and paste the pictures directly onto your thread.

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

DADSGARAGE-truck looks great. Turning radius is good, speed may be a bit slow but can be easily fixed. Have you calculated what the scale speed should be (ft. per sec.)? Keep the pictures coming.

Re: D8R +463 in 1/5,6

D8R-dozer looks great and seems to have plenty of power. Hope you get the cooling problem worked out. This machine could do some big time pushing!!!

Re: 777 HAUL TRUCK (1/12 size)

DADSGARAGE-you are doing some great work on this build. I have enjoyed watching your progress. A bit more on the akerman steering (if you care) I think for proper akerman geometry with both...
