Re: 1/16 Bucyrus Erie 22B-III

Thanks rustybucket. I for some reason I've always been fascinated with the old cable machines. I run modern excavators but I find the old stuff more interesting.

Thanks Papy. That's the story...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus Erie 22B-III

Wow!!!! Thank you so much, Steve and Dan! Steve, you just saved me $60 on a manual I was looking at. I'm not sure how I can repay the favors, but if I see something I can help with, I'll make extra...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus Erie 22B-III

That's great, Steve! You're a gold mine. Turns out mine is a little smaller. It scales out to 56 inches so I can make it bigger which means that the rest of the undercarriage is pretty close. I was...

Re: 1/16 Bucyrus Erie 22B-III

Thanks, guys! Steve, the only thing I really need is the outside diameter of the swing circle hook roller path. I have a sneaking suspicion mine is too big but I hope not; I have it drawn for 90...

Re: Volvo EC300D

It's looking sharp! How much does it weigh as it is right now?

Mirrors and lights and any other relatively flimsy appendages have a way of getting knocked out, off, and around if it spends any...

1/16 Bucyrus Erie 25B

After a year of drawing, losing files, drawing again, modifying, tweaking, jiggering, improving, and generally not leaving well enough alone, I'm finally cutting metal. I bought a "new" Clausing 8530...

Re: Volvo EC300D

A Northwest shovel would look right at home loading your truck.

Re: Bucyrus 88-B shovel

Those tracks are beautiful! I'm in the design stages of a 22B and I'm not looking forward to making the pads and they are waaayy less complex than yours. Thanks for the pictures!

Re: D9R and 463 pull scraper

Joe, take a look here: https://sdp-si.com/eStore/
They've got belts up the wazoo and it's in the US. A quick glance at a few random belts says you'll be looking at around 5 bucks. I can't remember...

Re: BC coast longliner "Jackfish"

Just now found this. It looks great! Just need to throw out the flopperstoppers and hit the open water. If I didn't know you were from BC already I would have guessed it was a Canadian boat. I had a...

Re: New build Mack dump truck

Looks good. With that tall tailgate, short wheelbase and box overhanging the back of the truck don't forget to trip it with a big load or you'll pop a wheelie. Don't ask me how I know.

Very nice! Always happy to see another cable machine on here. Do you have any pictures of the inner workings or under construction?

Re: Tournarocker Diversion Build

Love it! Those are good looking gears! Those are some of the more conventional Letourneau machines. My dad ran one a little. He said if you spin out you can inch your way out by setting the front...

Re: Barge-Mounted Clamshell Crane

Seems like I heard the reason for that, at least on the big draglines anyways was so you could push/pull both levers in the same direction when the bucket was moving away or towards the machine....

Re: Barge-Mounted Clamshell Crane

You might have to build one of those bags or buckets that helicopters use to drop water on fires. :D Left stick is u/d for boom, l/r for swing, right stick is u/d for the holding line, l/r for the...
