Re: Liebherr LTM 1030-2
I don't really think anymore that the ones Ken found are too bulky. The lower part will sit flush in the chassis and the upper needs to bridge the thickness of the gear and then the crane needs to be...

Re: 140H Grader
Ah, okay, I understand now: No proportional control on those channels.
I guess you could solder in different switches, but the Airtronics is a bit too expensive to just try it...

Re: 140H Grader
Learning to drive is difficult, but soooo much fun :D
As you saw, I modified my transmitters' controls for my grader, maybe you could do something similar (it's really not difficult).
But what...

Re: Liebherr LTM 1030-2
Ah, cool. Yup, that should be much better than what I thought:
I have never seen one of these units with such a thin flange, only units with massive cast iron housing or tiny bearings where the...

Re: Liebherr LTM 1030-2
I saw the drawing - I don't understand it.
Are the parts labelled be(a)ring and the one labelled flange be(a)ring one and the same?
If so, this would theoretically work, but you need to be sure...

Re: Liebherr LTM 1030-2
Okay, that works, too.
Do you use an FM radio?
For 2.4GHz, you will have to make sure that you can bind to two receivers at the same time (don't think this works) or switch models (computer...

Re: 140H Grader
Wonderful :)
Had seen the video before (or one like it?) but not the details of the cab.
IMO that level of detail just puts this over the top (in a good way)!

Re: Butler Bros Mark 5 logging truck
Crawler modellers use various foam inserts. I would assume that they are not typically as loaded as this truck, but it might just do the trick!
BTW, is this a Traxxas Diff?
Which model is it from?

Re: new holland tractor
Seems to work really well - never seen the solution with the Tamiya axle!
Did you need to narrow it?
How did you attach the Bruder wheels to the axle?

Re: R/C Tonka dump truck
Thanks for the info!
I suppose you could use different gearing, but then you'd have to accept slower drive-speed. Probably wiser to just enjoy it as it is :)

Re: CAT Grader in 1:14 with M-Series controls
Thanks! :)
I have the utmost respect for people using advanced tools, but there are still plenty of models to be built and fun to be had with simple tools and what we used to call "kitbashing".

Re: Unit Cable Hoe
Ah, sorry, I was confused! Need to learn to read :D
Their plastic chain has a spacing of 0.1227, so I thought you meant this.

Turns out the #25 chain I am using has a smaller roller...

Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane
That switch is ingenious!
The whole thing is a beauty - I did 1:24 scale display models (cars and trucks) - I can only marvel at your skills!
BTW, as you indicated that space is a premium (isn't...

ServoCity are great, I use their adapters, too.
Haven't had a chance to check their chain - good idea.
I assume this is the plastic chain here: ...

Re: R/C Tonka dump truck
Great tipping mechanism!
I really like that it still has the original character :)
May I ask what the servos are?
And do you not get problems with the exposed gearing?

What a great design - and the model looks just as excellent :)
The front tires are RC4WD's Rockcrushers - the rear are MIL-SPEC ZXL ?
I think they do have some rather nice designs for our...

Re: CAT 14M Motor Grader
Some unbelievable workmanship there.
The way you milled (engraved) and bent the brass cowling - wow!
Interesting way top offset the motors to allow central pivoting. This will lead to a slight...

Re: 140H Grader
This looks really wonderful!
The care you took in the appearance of the circle gearbox and the lattice(?) work on the back of the moldboard-carrier - sweet!
How strong is the circle rotation?
