Re: Bucyrus Erie crane truck

Thank you, that's pretty much what I had in mind.

I just looked in to what it would cost to make the base out of brass, and it would be a little out of my price range :o

I did a quick google search and found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy9PvqpWUnc

It may help you if the DX18's gimbal assemblies are the same as the the DX6i's

I can't wait to see the rest your...

Re: Bucyrus Erie crane truck

The cab is mounted to the frame
It turned out to be easier than I expected, I just had to make a bracket so that the cab mounts right to the stock bumper mount on the knight hauler frame....

So true. I think the worst part of the build is going to be the paintjob, I have never had much luck with paint :p

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

Sort of like low pressure injection molding  factory made rc tires probably use some kind injection molding. so you may be onto something there.

Re: Servo for raising / lowering tamiya landing legs

I'm unfamiliar with how the gearing is setup in the landing legs, but I would think a standard size continuous rotation servo should work. You would have to find some way to connect the servo to the...

Re: Better battery than this?

Okay it look's like two 7.2v nimh batterys in parallel, so you could try 2 cell li-po batterys if you have a li-po charger. If I had the batterys dimensions it would help me.
