Hello all, I was just thinking about using flex seal as the rubber for a custom tire. Thoughts?

Like spraying it on the inside of a mold in a 1 or 2" thick layer all around. It seems like it should work, it's strong enough to plug 5" holes in bucket etc...

Cat966c-I don't think that will work very well. The surface may not give good traction. If you want to make your own tires look at my thread on the Cat 777D truck. It is a fairly simple process and it is explained in detail in this thread.-

Tom I just went and reread your tutorial on tire making and still impressed with what you did there ....Makes tire making way less intimadating ..Putting this in my bookmarks

Ok thanks, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy some urethane rubber…eventually…when I win the lottery lol. And also I read your 777 thread and yes very impressive work!

T-N-T-Lou-thanks a lot for your comments. I am really surprised that no one has tried this. It is just not that difficult although there are a few critical steps that must be followed precisely. I think anyone with reasonable skills could do this.
