great feedback guys...i think ill not go hogwild and customize it,build it pretty much box stock for my first build.going to take the advice on the things you guys shared with me,i really appreciate your help.

1 of the best upgrades you can do is put a gear reduction unit on the motor or tranny to slow these trucks down. For all practical purposes, a stock tractor will actually be to fast in 1st gear let alone in 3rd. 1 of the best GRU's is made by Integy that goes between the motor and tranny or you can see if Ric at PMD (he is listed in the Hobby shop section) has any that goes after the tranny. He used to handle 2 kinds. Not sure what he has in stock right now.
