a quick update.
the dozer has been stripped and I have made tensioners for the tracks. just a tube inside the track body with some heavy springs, seems to work nicely. made up some brass wheels and these need bearings fitted, but for testing a bolt will work short term. also widened the the track body by 30mm for some extra clearance form the body to avoid rocks getting jammed between tracks and pannel work. also modified the blade and made some new arms for the blade. next i will redo the tracks with some new pads. then it will all be stripped again and sand blasted and a new paint job. later on I will replace the rams with faster acting ones. its 4:50 in the morning so that will do for now. cheers andy ![]() ![]() ![]() |

had a bit of spare time tonight so,
all wheels fitted with bearings, made a bit of a stuff up and predrilled wheels and body and used 8mm bolts to hold it all together, the bearings im useing are 5mm centers, problem sloved by tigging some pannel washers to body. also cheated a little and fitted teflon runners for tracks , and added a cutting edge to the blade. Im going to redo the ripper set up as I think it looks rubbish. got a fear bit of clean up to do with the dremmel and a bit of sanding but its getting there. any way picts of tonights efforts. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
