It looks like it's going to work great Mario. Are these conveyors going to be stationary or mobile so you can move them with the dozer or a truck?

Thanks Mike. It's still a work in progress but I'm liking the results so far.

I don't want to high jack coopers thread and thought best to share on mine....
Thanks to the efforts and experience of a few forum members I've come to realize that I need to change some of my construction site plans. I've run into a conveyor capability issue. I want to be able to collect screener material directly onto a conveyor and fill a hopper similar to a duratoy Sandmaster. That way I can load my Izzy tri axle dump trailer without scratching or doing any damage contacting it with the hoe or loader and use to haul the road building material around. Problem is, the black pete truck has a stack clearance of 11" so the hopper will sit high to begin with. I'd also like the hopper to have the capacity to fill atleast one trailer load.....starting to look like this hopper is going to be atleast 2ft high! So a conveyor at 20 degrees won't work unless I run it from an elevated area which means I can't feed with the loader....... So, plan B. The hopper will not be a drive under type but have a funnel bottom at ground level which feeds a conveyor ( #3) to load the trucks. That way, No worries about height clearance or truck width for friends who visit and run their trucks in the yard. i should have taken measurements and figured this out in the fall! The yard is gone and buried in snow now but I really want to get a jump start for next season and build as much as I can now so I don't waste the play season with building stuff! All comments and suggestions welcome! ![]() |

Hey Mario, just back under the sandmaster, like we do when hauling wet batch concrete from the drum.
Cheers, Neil. |

Mario, most of the sandmasters are raised to fit the trucks under, but you can cut the bottom of the hopper where the funnel goes down the square tube off and gain a little clearance. also if you are gonna load rough dirt in it you will have to take the grate out of it or it will stay plugged all the time.

Hey Mario, just put a super fast race motor on the belt!! It will shoot it up there then!! Like those gravel chuckers they have for some dump trucks

Well you could put the black Pete and the izzy dump up on the shelf and call it a queen

Get a 15" car tire tube, buy a new one to cut up if need be, the rubber is thinner & will stretch for a 58" conveyer. 2' rise on 58" travel is not that steep. Screening a bucket load at a time, there will never be that much weight on the belt at any given time, so it won't take that much power to drive. Don't over think it.

Sorry guys if I said it wrong.
I don't have a Sandmaster but want to build something that works like one with the overhead hopper design. I agree Kent that if I lower the road below the hopper would help. And there is no way in he** I will let the black pete and izzy trailer collect shelf dust! I didn't spend all that time and cash and not put them to work! I look at it this way.... two types of trucks at a open pit or mine site . The old dirty hard working site haulers and then the prestige type, haul the good stuff off the site highway rigs. ![]() I think your onto something with the chucker style conveyor RW ! That changes everything! ![]() Has anyone ever tried to make a scale auger style conveyor? It would eliminate angle issues . Just wondering what in the heck a guy could use to make one? ![]() |

Mario just a heads up on the dirt you have piled around the tree at screening plant if dirt gets higher it will kill the tree

I think the tree is more nervous of the bucket teeth

![]() Seriously though, it really is quite a chore hauling up and out and back again. Definitely planning to build a carry case for the radios and stuff but the equipment is one at a time no matter what. ![]() Hmmmmm, Now in the dead of winter, I actually miss those days real bad! .....Ok, there will be no complaining come next summer from me! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
