After some time of building with styrene and brass I'd like to change to the electrics again.

I started to build a new board to give the truck a more realistic behaviour. The main features are:
- Realistic speed up and engine brake behaviour
- Realistic brake behaviour with an emergency brake
- Realistic steer behaviour depending on the speed
- Slow steering if the truck is stopped
- Automatic cruise control feature
- Heavy load - The speed and brake is more slow in the same way as it happens with a heavy load on the trailer
- Gear mode (forward, neutral, backward)
- If gear mode changes, the truck stops automatically in a realistic way
- Providing a brake light and a reversing light
- steering up to 4 steered axle in correct propotional behaviour

After that I went back to the back lights, they got their LEDs.

The center board for the back lights

The center board to spread the lights for front and back

Painting the seats I tested a new mechanism by using flour to give them a bit of structure.

Some last peaces are drying at the moment. Tomorrow I can pickup the frame, it's actually at the painter to be powder painted.

Keep you updated.

Hi...

Because of technical reasons I couldn't use standard IR technics to lighten the trailer. So I started to create an own solution with Arduino boards.

The sender board

The receiver board

The sender board placed in the truck

And here's a video of the first ride in the living room.

Amazing build. I'm attempting one myself, so I might use some of your ideas to help me along. I have a question regarding how your cab is mounted. I assume the hood/bonnet hinges forward. But does the cabin remain behind? Or is that hinged too? I also want to build the long cabin, to house my smoke system and various other electronics, But I'm still stuck with how to access it.
