I have finished up the machining of the engine to accept the motor. I am still working on the mounting of the tranny. I think the pictures speak for themselves. I like the way it is turning out.
The black things on the cab subframe are what I am working on for simulated air bags. They will have a spring inside. I am always messing around with something. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I got the C-15 mounted today, the axles are done, and I am working on the rear suspension.
![]() ![]() ![]() Here are the mounts for the control arms. I am working on the simulated air bags. This may take a while. ![]() I can't wait until I can start working on the body. ![]() Last edited by Zimms Customs; 12-15-2010 at 10:14 PM. |

![]() ![]() So I am waiting on my axles and other bits, I decided to get working on some other things. Here goes, I have made the side step/boxes, cut the fuel tanks, the sleeper step, and made the rig master box that will house the esc. I also got some work done on the trailer, got the landing gear mounted and I started working on the sliding tandem axles. I forgot how much work all these little parts take, but knowing what the end product will look like is well worth the effort. I have diamond plate that covers the side step/boxes and I am in the process of making the cover for the rig master. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Got some more done today, I am excited to start working on the body. Everything goes slow when scratch building, but it is much more rewarding in the end.
![]() This is taking some time getting all the cuts, bends, corners, etc done, but I am enjoying it. Just in case you were wondering, I am cutting all the aluminum with my stationary scroll saw. It is not CNC, but it gets the job done. I got a lot more done on the trailer, but I will have to post some pics of that later. I may end up going for a look like this, what do ya think? ![]() |

Here I have some pics of the work I have done, long time no post, so here is a lot of information. The pics are pretty self explanatory. I am making the trailer with working sliding tandem and simulated air suspension. Got some work done on the truck, I will be tearing it down and redoing the steps and tanks, I have to have everything just right to pass my inspection.
![]() I will be opening up my store on ebay soon and will be selling trailer for just about anything. I have been doing this for a while and want to open up the potential market for the trailers. ![]() Yes, it is long, but it is a scale 53' trailer. I have about 9 hours into the trailer already and don't want to even think about how much time I have on the truck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Did I mention that I will be doing a lot of body work? I got more done on the cab. I like the color. I am waiting on some parts for the trailer and a few things for the truck. My website (store) should be up and running by the end of next week.
OBH, I am putting up some shelves in the space where the pictures are hanging up now, plenty of room for my long trailers. :chug: ![]() This aluminum is a pain to work with, took me two hours to get the firewall done and mounted, but it is well worth it. ![]() ![]() Here the panels are on the trailer, I think I am going to get the patch work done and start in on the doors and refer unit. I am going to go with an infared system form BEIER, I got their sound module and will be getting the infared system which will be conceled in the trailer in the refer unit. The battery will be under the matress in the sleeper and the sound unit will be back there too. ![]() |

I got some more work done on the truck and trailer. The picture below shows the truck with its opening doors and with the top cut down. I need to put the lip on the inside where the removable top will rest.
![]() I got the new frame rails done and painted, now I need to mount everything to them and then get the cab mounted after I get some lights in. ![]() Here you see the trailer with the hind end getting worked on. I put the C-Channel up top and am working on the bumper, I need to make it higher an to some angle work to it as well. The doors will be next, they will open and will have the peek-a-boo door on the right side as well. My next step is to get some filler work done and then start working on the lights. ![]() |
