Conveyor running, I need to work on the hopper and swap out for a more powerful motor. I may also install a dial speed control.

I harvested the motor from a massage chair, it made some little dimples rub your lower back. The motor is not very powerful and I already messed it up somehow by using the wrong transformer from wall outlet, ran 12v ac not 12vdc. It still works but developed a couple cogs, thinking I may have demagnetized it a bit. It was working like it should so just getting the motor speed figured out and I'll be tossing some dirt!!!

Ha, didn't even think of them, I have something similar around here somewhere. Ideally I would like to have it wired to a car battery or 12v transformer plugged in. And have some sort of variable speed pot, as I don't know how speed affects material on conveyor as angle increases, still learning but thanks for the idea as those motors are great power and probably right in the rpm range too!! Thanks mark!!

We seem to be at each extreme RW. Mine turns at 30rpm , yours looks like 130! That my friend, is a stone chucker.

if you choose to go with battery power, this is the cats meow for voltage control and cheap. I've got a couple. One for testing stuff at various voltages and one use to run the screener but now it's running the Cat sign at the gas station.

Thanks Mario , that's perfect-just what I was lookin for. And thanks for the rpm, I was going to rig up some kind of Popsicle stick on shaft because the tachometer I have is for airplane props. And it may not read that low!?!??

No problem. That is one of many voltage ranges they offer. The one I use is 5-16V. 200W.

I like my conveyor speed but if I was gonna be anal about it, I'd probably go with something in the 50-75 rpm range and use the regulator to set it where you need for different materials.
I'm sure mine are too slow for a coarse material like small stone or pebble. They'd probably just roll back. It would be nice to have more speed range to work with.

i don't have much experience with conveying material but figured if I have some sort of variable speed it would be the wiser choice. I've got to go look at so,e of your videos.

dont forget guys most belts have ribs or paddles to keep the sand or dirt from falling back on the belt

I'm ready if it comes to that. Going with Lou's idea I've been collecting wiper blades for along time and trimming the leading edge off them to glue on the belt if need be. Fortunately, the angle I needed and the speed I'm at, I really don't need paddles on the belt.

The way I see it, belt speed is like that trick of pulling a table cloth real fast and not disturb the dishes on top of it if you know what I mean.

Some of us start slow.....some of us start fast.......must be an age thing..

Never mind , I need to make some videos! Time is running short! Although the temps are beautiful, the leaves aren't looking as green as they were only so much playtime left!

Dam I missed this , the buckhorn stop is maybe 5-8 miles away. I was up on a roof most of morning anyway . I got a new turn motor for the excavator, the old one is about shot, the pinion is still fairly good so going to swap out

And also going back to the original brushed drive motors with the simple esc. The "upgrade" kit isn't better in my opinion. The system is set up for 2s voltage, I am running 3s and full power the tracks are like an Indy car. I forget how much I have them limited with radio but I know it's well below half. And they don't have much power. They stall very easily. Just my opinion but I think the original set up with the brushed gear head motors is better. I have some extra time lately, work is slowing down so I'm eager to get back to fixing or building something.
