With you on the cable mess in the engine bay. Will be interesting to see your solution there!

One advantage of te 1:8 scale is that the receiver and ESC don't look too much out of proportion. What ESC are you using? Was thinking that one from Servonaut might be flat/small enough to disappear in the engine bay.

Ive got a Novak Eiger that Ive had laying around unused for a few years now. Its pretty small and can handle the recommended 3s lipo with an external bec. More importantly it has zero reverse delay. No need for drag brakes. You can see it in the last pic posted.
