As I know you need to seal your electronics. Many of todays ESC-s come waterproof, and brushed motors can go underwater. It remains to seal the servos and reciver. There are some products used for sealing.
I remember we used ballons and fit the electronics in them, when it was raining duing the race.

plastidip is great for waterproofing servos. also on a tamiya truck if u gonna run in water, dont upgrade to bearings... use original bushings.
