 The top and bottom are cut out. I didn't want to clamp against the little points and round end, that's why I cut them .3" deep as the part is .3" deep but offset .15" in heights from one end to other.

I've clamped to less then .06" but, seeing the way your clamping them your best off at that depth . Looks good so far.
