Ha, the RC4WD 3 speed when first released, the front output spun opposite the rear output. Simple fix on their part with an idler gear, but come on, really?
This looks pretty slick though, 2 speeds and selectable 2WD/4WD.

my first 6 WD I did with a E-maxx tranny
( the Globeliner shown in this post below )

the German Krupp ( same post ) has the stock Tamiya 3 speed with a transfer case ( which is unfortunately not available anymore )

The most recent 6WD’s I do with the stock Tamiya 3 speed and add the transfer-case from the F-350 via a new rear-tranny plate I machine myself .
This particular 6WD was build with just stock Tamiya semi-truck parts with the exception of that adapter-plate for the transfer-case and the drive-shaft between the rear axles
