Looking good!
It's nice to see a scratch built model under power and doing what it was built for. Now the truck needs a friend like an old steam shovel with an electric conversion like the ones they used on the island here for road building way back when. ![]() |

I hope to build a Cat 955K(1967) track loader next because that's what we use to load the real truck at home here. It's only 6 years newer than the truck(1961) so it will be close in era. I haven't been around any shovels so I wouldn't know where to start building one.HAHA I wish I was rich and retired(but not any older) so that I could build more of these things... I like logging equipment too...

I couldn't have summed it up any better myself ![]() The 955K sounds like a good match for the truck. I'm looking forward to seeing that build in the future! Last edited by TheMachinist; 05-09-2011 at 11:17 PM. |

That looks very similar to one these two sitting in Atlin BC slowly sinking into the ground.

OOOOOh! I smell road trip.
I might have to take the camera and get a bunch of photo's of those machines. Live Steam, R/C, and model loaders. That would be a unique build. ![]() |
