Is that a 2x5 Sabertooth?
I have the 2x10, 2x12 & 2x25 in various models and I sometimes have that happen (slow down) with each of them. I did correct the 2x12 & 2x25 by changing DIP #5 (Auto Calibrate) to down position to turn it off. It works much better for me. The DIP switches for the 10A, 12A & 25A are all different, so whatever your 2x5 instructions tell you to turn off Auto Calibrate.

http://www.robotmarketplace.com/prod...ROBOCLAW5.html J.D., If you want to turn off the auto calibrate like Joe does there is a data sheet on that link that tells you what the dip switches are for. You just lift the black rubber cover from under where the battery sits and you can see the whole esc board and it is easy to access.

I just read through the Data sheet for the roboclaw and when dipswitch #6 is "on" calibration mode is off.

FWIW, I never had luck with these "auto calibrating" ESCs. If there is any tiny glitch in the powersupply, it will send them to calibrate mode. Can cause quite a crash with faster onroad racers. Guess how I found out...
I try to stay clear off them as far as I can. Hope this solves the problem with the Delta loader, a nifty thing it sure is! Edit: Thanks for the link, looks like an interesting ESC and I like the dip-switch options! If only all manufacturers would allow users to disable the automatic calibration. |
