Default servo mods

Hi Guys,

I have links for modyifyng servos for continuous running, but, I was wondering if I could get two servos to run in opposite directions, indepenently, on one channel ? I was thinking that a diode in the signal wire would only let a servo run from neutral/centre to one side, but, not the other ? Or have I got my understanding of servo electronics wrong ?

Just found this on the net - http://www.servocity.com/html/180o_servo_stretcher.html - A pair of these running off one channel would do exactly what I am looking for when set up right !

Andi:

If you can go inside to do the mod, you can just reverse the power leads to the servo drive motor on one of the servos.

This is the way we used to make reverse-rotation servos before they started putting switches on the Tx's. Was cheaper than paying 50% more for a specially purchased 'reverse-rotation' servo.

Hi Whitewolf,

I have done the reversing mod before in the past - I too have close to 30 years RC experience - for my sins !

The link in my last post points to a device which would allow me to connect two servos to one channel, and, with the available adjustment on the device, would allow me to set one servo to run from neutral to full left throw, and set the other to run from neutral to full right throw - this would allow me to control two seperate mechanical functions from one switch on the Tx - one for fifth wheel latch/release ( only require movement one side of neutral ) the other for anything only needing one side of servo throw - i.e latch switch for lights on/off.
