We use them (we have two of this type of cranes) for load en unloading from sea going vessels. That could be all like Coal & Minerals, Agriculture, scrap, ect. In fact all dry bulk cargo.

Capacity is 36 tons from 13 meter to 43 meter (42 to 141 feet)
The 'red box' is indeed the operators cab, it's about 39m (127 feet) above deck.
