I'm fairly sure the FMC skidders wwere based on surplussed Sherman chassis. You can still find pics of them today, and many are still in use out in BC.

And I agree, MatoMart is a good source, they'll sell anything from a full tank to a stripped chassis. And if you gotta buy the whole thing, there are lots of guys that will buy the guts.
