Joe that looks great and as far as your problem how about a valve in the with a servo to cut off or reduce the flow, it will go to the least resistance. Ed

On the cable scrapers I've run you pull on the lever and the door opens and then the ejector pushes forward. Then when you push the lever away the ejector moves fast to the rear before the door closes. You may need to put a needle valve that meters in one direction and free flows the opposite. So you may need two to dial in both functions. I have a small 4-1/4CY Soil Mover scraper that has a valve body in the lines to regulate the flows.
