I drilled the hole for the smaller bump thinking it would look flush to the outside. I think it's a 3/16 hole and its a tight fit, no glue needed. I also held up a 5mm led to the backside and it would sit in the hollow part just need a way to hold led in place

Great idea! The one pic showing the back side of the lens has a nice rim. Could you cut a slot , slide a 5mm bulb wire into it and make a plug for the end to secure maybe?

Or good old silicone?
