UKT,
That container on the bed, that one of the Bruder ones, and if so, whats the dimensions on the wee beastie? And thought of mebbe making one of these interesting machines? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAU7RAtUk7o I've even seen one variant that can side-lift a car (will try to dig up the vid link if anyone wants...) And by the way it uses the chain-suspension on the lower corners, one could even lift flatbed assemblies as well as boxes, and level, where the units you are use to use the hook&arm and drag it onto the bed. I'd be tempted, but hydraulics make me cringe... I'd have to start with one of the quarry-use articulated dumpers, or a wheel-loader. |

Here is a link to the Bruder container
http://www.scalefarm.com/d-03900_mod..._container.htm The blue bottom pieces are behind the roll up sides as a standard fitting, the red top pieces of the sides on mine are plastic sheet. That side lift looks a challenge to make , maybe it could be operated by a screw mechanism and small motor rather than hydraulics. Last edited by uk trucker; 03-24-2013 at 11:17 PM. |

Looking great!
I have to say it looks a bit like cheating to me, parking it using the pointless on the front, Having said that, I know from experience how difficult these outfits are to reverse. Your truck wold look great inning next to my Merc 8 wheeler... Now there's a thought! |

Adrian,
Your truck wold look great inning next to my Merc 8 wheeler... Now there's a thought! bring it on! Next Clumber meeting is on 12 May, could keep us amused for hours. It's not bad to reverse park but it's a lot easier from the front . You still have to get the steering corrections in early though otherwise the tangle up is much the same ![]() ![]() The real drivers of 8 leggers and trailers used to park the trailers from the front hitch. Leyland were nice and kind and built in the front hitch into the front bumper beam so it was only fair of me to follow suit ![]() ![]() ![]() Makes reversing a semi - trailer seem easy ![]() ![]() |
