I like the build and i share the same problem as you do i do not have a lathe, milling machine etc. But i was lucky to receive a pillar drill as a gift from a relative a few months back.

Just a quick question does anyone know if you can use a milling machine part in a pillar drill and move the base around it?

The problem with using a drill press as a milling machine is, the tapered shank on the drill chuck, won't stay in its tapered socket. Make sense to you?
Cheers, Neil.
