Cool. You should definitely leave the tub raw, so it rusts. I've seen some trailers like this, just beat to crap - dents, bulges, scratches, the company name barely visible on the outside, and then a really sharp owner operator tractor pulling it, spit shined. Quite a contrast, but still pretty neat anyway.

He said it was built out of aluminum, be kind of hard to get it to rust.

the aluminium ones just oxidize real bad and look like they are rusted
and they have rust marks all over them from the iron scratching them up
at least down here in wet Florida they do

Cool build for a trailer Steve. I've loaded many of those bathtubs when i used to work in a scrapyard years ago. They took one helluva beating with rail scrap, and trucks and wheels from old rail cars.

thanks rick these trailers/ bodies always caught my fancy being that they're light and can take a beating and still look good .

well I wasn't going to mill the a frame but I did , and boy I wish I had the bigger mill all the repositioning every time I ran out of table . I'll post pics this coming weekend
