Default Re: Bearings in 3-speed gear box

If I remember the gear box internals correctly, the reason it's advised not to replace with ball bearings is that those bearings need to both slide and roll freely. Ball bearings are usually not very good at sliding. Glue prevents them from popping out of the plastic thing from the push/pull force.
I have a feeling I greased that instead of gluing in my current build. Thanks for the reminder to check.

I am building my first KH and just finished the trans. Installed bearings throughout just prior to reading this thread. I have 1 bearing not sliding well, and I agree with Wombii. I'm going to swap those 2 bearings for the Tamiya bronze bushings.
