I just want to start by saying thank you for starting this forum, it helps to talk to others in the hobby for support and guidance.
Now to my issue. I'm nearing the completion of my first truck but I wanted to test the driving and steering before I added alp the lights. It is a knight hauler with full options mfu, powered 5th wheel etc. But when I try to drive the truck I can hear the motor is laboring with no trailer or anything and has no power. So I took my pliers and placed them in front of the front tire and tried to drive over them. Not enough power to force the tire up not even any tire spin on the drives. I checked the diffs and thw transmission I tried in all 3 gears and reverse all the same result. I have experience with other RC and never had this problem. Which leads me to believe it may be electrical and not mechanical. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian |

Make sure your motor isn't fastened too tight against the white gear as i know this can happen, other than that try another motor.

Are you sure you have a good battery, freshly charged? If yes, then double check your motor pinion to transmission spur gear mesh. If that looks good, then loosen the motor from the mounts completely, and roll the truck on the floor to feel for any drivetrain bind. Try all three gears, rolling by hand. If all feels well then either the motor is weak, or the MFU could be causing your problems. I've been told the Tamiya MFU limits the power to the motor, to prevent drivetrain damage. The solution is to run a seperate ESC, and hook the MFU to the same channel with a servo y-harness, just so the MFU will match the sound to the ESC function.

A tip i just learned is to connect the 5th wheel wire, but cut the green/blk wire, strip the ends and twist them together. the power will increase 100%.

I wonder if the MFU2 is the same, the one for High Lift based trucks. I have one going in a build, but already planned on a Y cable and a Mamba Monster.
