Hi everyone, i'm new here.
I have a old 1993 New Bright D10 Dozer that i'd like to fix up. Yea I know this is not big boy stuff like what is shown around this forum, but I would like to fix this up for my son so he can play with it in the snow. I'd like to re-motor the two rear drive wheels with a stronger slow to scale motors that will be able to push more. Or whatever that will fit inplace of the original would be fine. Also i'd like to make it radio controlled and get rid of the old huge remote. If you guys could point me in the right direction on this project i would greatly appreciate it! I wish I had a couple hundred or thousand to throw into a new nice model. Shawn |

I wanted one of those models, really bad, when I was 9 or 10 years old. I was lucky enough to get the big Cat wheel loader, but after that mom and dad said 'you already have one, why do you need another?'.
Well, it sounds like you'll need some gear motors. Check these guys out. http://www.servocity.com/html/motors___accessories.html There are many other places you can find them too, even in smaller sizes. Here's another good place. http://www.robotcombat.com/products/motors_main.html And one more - http://www.robotshop.com/robot-parts.html I have only ever ordered from Servocity, so I can't speak for the others, but I have always had good experiences with Servocity. Great service.

You don't need a couple thousand $$$'s to do this conversion. First you need to disassemble it and figure to see what room you have to work with. If you want to make it full-function, i.e
Movement is easy independant steering (sabertooth 2x5 rc) blade function (you have a couple of choices) drive motors (servocity, robotmarketplace) this model will require some weight to be added to it also

this sounds like a good project! please post lots of pictures.. i have this exact some dozer. I took mine apart a few years ago with plans of adding better motors for the tracks and a stronger blade lift system but it kinda fell though the cracks and i forgot about it until now that i saw this lol it would also be really cool if you could make the smoke generator work full time instead of only when the blade would come up. hope to see more of this!

Here's one that someone converted to RC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fXLfVzKZtc Sure looks like it has lots of power. I've just finished up converting one of their excavators and it came out well. I'll post pictures on my thread when I get a chance.
